Our Story
DCT Responsible Travel was born from a love for our country and a desire to support the growth of sustainable tourism in Vietnam
Our founder Ms. Lam Dang began her career in 2007 working for leading sustainable travel companies, designing tourism itineraries, and traveling Northern Vietnam extensively. Her work brought her to many remote places and introduced her to many worthwhile community tourism projects. On a trip to Pu Luong in 2022, she was inspired to open her own company. She named it ‘Đi Chậm Thôi’, meaning, ‘to go slowly and deeply.’
DCT Responsible Travel launched in May 2022 with a small office in Cau Go St. in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. From there we crafted accessible adventures for travelers looking for a deeper experience of Vietnam. Sustainable from the start, we pioneered tours in lesser-known destinations, and partnered with ethnic communities, nature reserves, and local guides to create immersive itineraries in beautiful, peaceful corners across North Vietnam.
In 2023 we moved to a new location in Tay Ho, and expanded our offerings to Vietnam’s three regions, encompassing adventure, cultural, coastal, educational and volunteer tourism, as well as in-destination services. Today we are a small team of six people, all sharing the same vision for a sustainable future for tourism in Vietnam.
Every tour we create is rooted in the principles of responsible travel and promises to bring travelers closer to the soul of Vietnam.
