Our impact

Established in 2017, Tam Cuisine opens a special opportunity for travelers to gain deep insight into authentic Hanoian cuisine, with the help of local grandmothers. We created Tam Cuisine with the goal of preserving and showcasing Hanoi’s traditional recipes and culinary customs. The experience not only contributes to the income of the Hanoian women who lead the classes, but gives travelers a rare chance to connect with Hanoian culture and lifestyle.

Since 2023, we’ve partnered with Nhà Tân, a family-run homestay nestled in a peaceful corner of Mai Chau. Tân is a White Thai woman living in a traditional stilt house that has been preserved through three generations. We supported Tân in renovating her family’s stilthouse to be able to accommodate international tourists, and helped her family design services and activities to complete the guests’ experience in Mai Chau and create additional income.

Khau Pha is an authentic ethnic minority village in Mu Cang Chai with traditional stilthouses set amid rice terraces and scattered trails. Since 2018 we have supported the Khau Pha Friends Project by consulting and designing experiences such as local homestays, guided trekking and motorbike trips, and cultural experiences to improve the livelihoods of the Black Thai and Flower H’Mong communities and provide authentic experiences for travelers.

Lam Thuong is a new destination on the Vietnam travel map. Since 2021, together with Khau Pha Friends, we’ve supported four households of the Tay and Red Dzao ethnic minorities in developing travel products suitable for international visitors. Together we have helped to renovate stilthouses, and design cultural and nature-based activities based on local resources, such as trekking, waterfall bathing, bamboo crafts, and river rafting.
