A touch to ancient cultures
Vietnam Hill Tribes & Communities | 2 weeks trip
A grand journey off the beaten track, connecting with Vietnam’s hill tribes and local communities.
Travel differently with DCT Responsible Travel. Leave the classic tourist routes behind and immerse yourself in the cultures of Northern Vietnam’s ethnic minority communities.
Begin at Thac Ba Lake, Vietnam’s largest artificial lake, dotted with hundreds of small islands. Discover how the White-Trouser Dao people live in harmony with the lake and the surrounding forest.
Then journey into the northern highlands to Ban Lien, a peaceful village far from mass tourism. It is ideally located for visiting some of the region’s most fascinating ethnic markets, including Bac Ha on Sunday, Can Cau on Saturday, and Coc Ly on Tuesday.
Finish your journey in Hoang Su Phi, one of Northern Vietnam’s most spectacular districts. Its nationally recognised terraced rice fields cascade down steep mountainsides, creating breathtaking scenery. Stay with local Man Ta Pan and Long-Tunic Dao families for a deeper insight into their culture and daily life.
